MOCK

- to imitate

- to ridicule

- to rehearse

MOCK is a curated exhibition that engages with the concept of “mockery” – in any of its iterations, meanings, and implications. A word that functions as verb, adjective, adverb, and noun, “mock” connotes a variety of related terms including imitation, ridicule, and rehearsal. The artworks selected for MOCK intersect with notions of satire, institutional critique, appropriation, mimicry, fakery, and parody, among other approaches to this topic.

This exhibition features works by 29 artists from across the US: Zach Betts, Kristina Denzel Bickford, Greg Blair, Christian Carson, Jeremy Dennis, Dylan Dewitt, Zach Frazier, Morgan Rose Free, Anna Guyton, Craig Hill, Gene Hracho, Christina Kerns, Xyl Lasersohn, Sarah Lasley, B. Lynch, Caroline Maxwell, Jimmy McBride, Brian McSherry, Leito Navarrete, Brian Phillips, Mark Rice, Vanity Project, Thom Sawyer, Rita Valley, Christina Renfer Vogel, Anthony Warnick, Rhonda Weppler, Ian Whitmore, and Elizabeth Withstandley
